PHLOVE sports notes: markets, prices, and thin old posts
How sports markets work in plain English, and why the old PHLOVE sports URL farm now points to one guide.

The old PHLOVE blog published a long row of sports pages: boxing, cycling, golf, handball, volleyball, water polo, yellow cards, penalties, billiards, and “secrets” of soccer betting. Most of them taught the same idea under a new sport name. This page keeps the idea and retires the doorway list.
What a price is saying
A decimal price of 2.00 returns your stake plus the same amount again if that result wins, before any adjustment the book applies. A shorter price means the book rates that result as more likely. The price is not a prediction you are owed. It is the contract on offer at that moment, and it can move before the event starts.
Markets that look small and cost the same
- Match result (1X2 or moneyline) settles the winner, sometimes with a draw.
- Totals settle on a number, such as goals or points over or under a line.
- Cards and penalties settle on a specific event. They can lose even when your team wins the match.
- Esports uses the same shape: a match winner, a map winner, or a handicap. The title on the tile does not change the need to read the settlement rule.
Bankroll shape
Pick a stake that is a small slice of the money set aside for the day. A parlay multiplies prices and also multiplies the ways to lose. One wrong leg voids the ticket. If you want the longer explanation of deposits that fund a sports balance, use the deposit guide.
